The work of the collaborative duo Markus Drassl and Michael Meraner interrogates interior and exterior spaces. Inspired by elements of ground plans, contour lines, codes and patterns, MDMM are shaping rust on metal sheets. In selected exterior places, broad under the rain, buried in the ground or drowned in water, after months, the standardized metal sheets become rust paintings. Time and space play an essential part in the whole process of creation and depict themselves in a variety of colors, structures and kaleidoscopic patterns.
